So I was trying to block in the shadows, mid tones and highlights and then start blending it. I obviously never got to the blending part. This method might work for some artists but I don't think that this way of approaching a picture works for me.

Did some detailing on the ship. Tried to get the railing to look like polished wood and I think that its getting there, I also worked on the stairs and other bits of the ship. I've started a second job (art related yay!) so this is going to have to wait until the weekend to get finished until then I do have a ton of sketch book stuff that I've been holding onto for just such an occasion.
