Some very nice abs on this woman and they where the main focus of this picture and I think that they came out pretty good. Nice definition and tone here. Not a lot else to say.
Just some poses I did while on the bus.

I think that the colors came out a bit wonky here, the light in the photo was a greenish color but I wasn't able to get the color just right. On the other hand the anatomy came out good and while the color is off the lighting is good.
A pair of thieves, the skinny one being the guy to do the actual thieving and the fat guy to sell the items that were stolen or to accept jobs to steal items. I'm not sure why I drew these two guys but they were fun to draw.

A butt and some feet. The model was in a tub so her skin was wet and shiny and I think that I got that across. My only complaint is that the background didn't come out as good.
After playing around with the character design I think that I came across a design that I like. On the top left her uniform from her military service, to the right a close up of her face, below that is her with her powers activated giving her cloud like wings and electrifying her sword, finally what her face looks like when using her powers.

Focusing on hands and boobs. The photo I did this from had some very nice soft light and was pretty desaturated this gave the skin a nice color.
A house or an inn done in a Bavarian style of architecture. I tried to get a fantasy kind of feel from this, like something out of Lord of the Rings.

I think that this could use some improvement. Her eyes are to big, her hand looks awkward, the color of the hair is off and the rest of the figure is unfinished looking. Even though all of that stuff is wrong I think that this is a big improvement over what I was doing six months or even three months ago and that's the goal so I'm trying to not beat myself up over this to much.
Some gestures at the top and below them another character for my comic. She's kind of like the Pope and the head of the UN in one person. The city-state she rules is a place that remains neutral in external conflicts and is a holy site as such it attracts a lot of people from around the world. Like any big city it has it's share of crime and poverty but she remains unaware of this due to being carefully guarded from such things since she was a child. I imagine her character development taking her from being a pure idealist who has a superiority complex to being more down to earth and pragmatic.

Focusing on the shoulder and the back here. I like the way the two light sources worked out and how the minimal background helped the image as a whole.
A quick pin-up drawing while trying a more exaggerated style, I think that it helped the post that the style is a bit less realistic and that's something that I might work on incorporating into more of my work.

So I'm trying something new here and doing just an hour long painting that's a study of one section of the body. This is a focus on the hips, pelvis and upper leg. I think that this could have been more finished but on the whole I think it turned out pretty good.
Another character for my comic, a fisherman who gets drawn into the events because he becomes host to the spirit of water (drawn behind him). In the corner a random face that has nothing to do with anything.

Thursday, May 23, 2013

Other than the hands I think that this came out pretty good. As usual foreshortening took up a lot more time than it should have and I didn't really get around to the hands but the face looks good and hair has a nice feel to it.
At the top is a sketch inspired by the song "He Had it Coming" from the musical Chicago. A friend of mine sent me a link to the song and I couldn't get it out of my head for weeks. Below that another character from my comic. She's kind of a freedom fighter trapped in the main city while its under the rule of a tyrant. Her tattoos are magical and only come out when shes using her special powers.

Wednesday, May 22, 2013

This came out a lot rougher than I think it should have. The anatomy is good and the foreshortening works but the painting is way to rough and I need to learn how to work faster so that I can do a thirty minute pose and have them look consistently good.
So the last four sets of poses for the short comic. It depicts a goddess going to visit her twin sister who is the goddess of the underworld and as she does so she has to remove her attachments to the world of the living. I thought it would also be interesting is she went through the seven stages of grief as she did so. And at the bottom a quick pin-up I did during a break.

Tuesday, May 21, 2013

I like the way this came out. The light, anatomy and pose all work really well and I have no real complaints about this one.
A bunch of doodles. A couple of charachters from a book on mythology and some random poses. And at the bottom some stuff for a short comic I might be working on.

Monday, May 20, 2013

I liked where this was going, I think that with some more time this would have been a really nice figure. In the future I think I'll do longer poses so that I can spend more time making the figures look really nice.
A lot of stuff going on here, starting from the top we have, a flying guy landing, a dragon for a comic I'm working on, a bunch of power rings from the green lantern comics with a their power trails, a woman using a blue power ring, Marvin the martian, and finally a space marine.

Sunday, May 19, 2013

Not a lot of finish here. Everything is pretty good anatomy, color, ect. it's just not very far along.
Kind of a bunch of random stuff here. Tomar-Re from the green lantern comics, a guy riding an atomic bomb like from Dr. Strangelove and She-Hulk wielding a gavel. Like I said a lot of random stuff.

Saturday, May 18, 2013

The picture that I used for this was almost black and white but I think that this came out pretty good. As always very defined muscles always give me a tough time, not that I have trouble painting them it just takes me more time than I would like so I guess that means I need to do more of it.
Some studies of dogs. My character was going to have an animal companion but I'm not sure if if I still want that to happen or if I want it to be dog.

Friday, May 17, 2013

I feel like I spent to much time on the drawing and not enough on the painting part. Other than that not bad.
A potential villein for a comic I'm working on. I wanted him to be the first villein that the hero faced but now I think that he would work better as a man-behind-the-curtain type of villein. The guy pulling all these strings to get people just where he wants them.

Thursday, May 16, 2013

I was having an off day here. Everything was a struggle and as a result this looks kind of muddy and unfinished. Oh well not every drawing can be a winner.
At the top we have a girl I saw while I was waiting for the bus, she left before I could really get the drawing finished so most of this is from memory. And below her is just a generic guy.

Wednesday, May 15, 2013

While this figure needs a lot of polish but the lighting and the colors came out really good. I'm pretty happy with this picture, it has it's flaws but for a thirty minute drawing I think that they're forgivable.
Coffee shop drawing. About twice a week I work a double or a split shift, what that means is that I work for about ten hours and only get an hour or two break. That's not enough time for me to go home so I sit at a coffee shop usually Cherry Street Coffee near my work and I draw in my sketch book. Most of the time I'm drawing stuff for a project or something but some times I just look around and draw the things around me.

Tuesday, May 14, 2013

Well defined backs are very hard for me to draw and paint from memory. There is so much going on under the skin and it's hard to keep track of it all. While this one could have used a little more finish I think that it came out okay.
Here we have a zombie and a girl in a dress. The zombie ended up there because I didn't know what to draw, the girl is from a comic I'm working on and at one point in the story she goes under cover at a fancy party so I was designing a dress and figuring out how she would have her hair done.

Another victim of my old mouses double click problem. from the look of it I would say that i was about twenty minutes into this pose and everything was going well. The lighting was good, anatomy solid, the only thing is the colors seem a little off but not anything that I couldn't fix in ten minutes.
A robot butler as imagined by some one from the late 1800's.

Sunday, May 12, 2013

I feel like I was having an off day with this one, there are some issues with her arms and face, the skin doesn't look very life like and it looks like I only just got started on the lighting when the thirty minutes was up. Some times things just don't work out with a picture for whatever reason and why I practice so much is to make it so that even when I feel like things aren't working nobody else can tell that I was struggling.
There are some doodles in the top corner that where just me getting an idea across to a friend of mine. The other drawing are of my character. and here is where I started to really get away from my old design and branch out a bit. While I like this design it comes across a bit to young for what I was going for. This is one of those things that I'll set aside and use for something else because I like it even if it didn't work for this character.

Saturday, May 11, 2013

Came out pretty good. Not a great job it lacks some finish that I would normally like but I think that the anatomy and lighting came out good.
Another iteration of my character. I tried to give her a more practical warrior look that wouldn't look out of place in modern time. Then I added a spear. I like this design but I still feel like I could push the design a lot further.

Friday, May 10, 2013

While a lot of this figure is unfinished I do like how the skin tones and the lighting came out. One thing that I've noticed on a lot of stock photography sites is how many of there models are white so I was glad when I came upon this one because I really like painting darker skin tones.
I started playing around with an old character I made up a while back. She was a character that I liked but I haven't really done much with her so I decided to do a redesign of her and maybe write a comic for her. This is kind of the first attempt at a redesign and I think that I was to stuck on the old design at this point.

Thursday, May 9, 2013

Got a few color issues here, some areas came out a bit more yellow than I would have liked but still overall I like the way this came out.
A couple of characters from a comic I'm working on with a friend. At the top is a robot that is kind of naive and child like and below her is the captain of the ship that the main characters are on. At the bottom are some designs for the robot girls ear. Trying to find the balance between looking mechanical and looking like a human ear.

Wednesday, May 8, 2013

My old mouse was having this issue where it would double click when I only meant to click once. So I paused this to answer the phone and I accidently hit the exit button while I was only about twenty minutes in. Because of that there's a lot that is unfinished but I was off to a good start with the lighting and the anatomy.
A bunch of quick anatomy studies done from memory.

Tuesday, May 7, 2013

This one came out a bit darker than I think it should have but other than that I think that the rest of the figure came out pretty good.
A bunch of random stuff that's not really any thing. Some gestures and some faces none of them are particularly finished or anything.

Monday, May 6, 2013

With about ten or fifteen minutes more this could have turned out much better. There are still a bunch of the construction lines showing that I usually cover up by the end of the thirty minutes. But the shadows and the highlights where taking shape and the face looked good which is kind of tough for me to pull off in thirty minutes.
A lot of different stuff going on here. Top left is a guy I drew from life while I was waiting for the bus, to the right and above is a drawing from memory of the woman who took my blood, below both of those are a couple of the robots from Portal 2, one of them is making a pizza because that's my day job at the moment. All around the page are various heads and torsos turning and twisting in space. And finally the woman with horns and smoking is Mercy Sparx from the comic of the same name.
