Spending more time on the figures is paying off, there more finished and I think I'm getting more out of it. Tomorrow I will be continuing with the Bridgman copies and doing those for a couple weeks.
The start of a beach painting. Still really rough at this point especially in the foreground but that will get worked out in the end.

So with a few of these I just said "screw it" and spent as much time as I needed to get them done, a trend that will continue in the future because I think that I got more out of it.
Sunset copy finished. Still a little rough in some spots but overall I feel pretty good about this one.

A lot of very expressive faces here so more focus on faces.
A copy of a painting of a sunset and a deer. Two hours in to a four hour copy.

More full figures here even if they aren't very finished figures. I think that doing those even if I can't finish them is still more valuable than just doing some heads.

I like the way the trees and the atmosphere came out in this painting. Foliage once again being a major problem. It's a kind of catch 22, if I spend time making the ferns look good I have less time to spend on the rest of the picture. I need to find a happy middle ground.

Lots of figures here and less faces. This took me a little longer than the hour I usually allow for these exercise because of the figures but I think that it was worth it.
A forest painting two hours in, to a four hour painting.

I always wish that I had more time to put into these. There meant to be more like a warm up or something to do to unwind so I don't want to spend to much time on them.
So I really like how this one came out. For a four hour copy I'm really pleased. I never really expect to be able to completely duplicate a painting but this one came fairly close.

Another fifty/fifty split and I think that works. I'm on issue 3 at this point.
A copy of a painting of a plateau by Noah Bradly. This is two hours into a four hour copy.
