This is a copy from an artist by the name of James Wolf called The Abandoned Mine. My intent was to learn about the composition and lighting. Two things that I struggle with especially when doing environment paintings. This took about three hours to complete and while its not a perfect reproduction of the original I think that I learned a bunch while doing it so I feel like it was time well spent.

The final pose came out a looking a bit like it was overexposed. I normally have the opposite problem with things looking too dark and I think I was trying to compensate. I'll get the right balance one day.
I am a Whovian so I decided to do a quick portrait of the eleventh Doctor. This is from his first episode so that's why he doesn't have his trademark bow-tie. This took about 30 minutes.

More gestures with some longer poses.

A quick painting of a dagger. 25 - 30 minutes for this one.
Gesture drawings starting with 30 seconds and going to 30 minutes.
A picture of a desert. This took about an hour to do.

Donna Noble from Doctor Who. She is my favorite companion from the new series. All snarky and kinda bitchy in a good way. I want another companion to tell off the Doctor like Donna. This took about 45 minutes.
