Gestures and Dagger. My cousin is a DJ and asked me to design him a logo. He plays a lot of 80's music so he wanted a logo that matched that decades design sense. Miami Vice being the main color influence. 

He also wanted some variations based on band logos. Def Leopard, The Doors, Metallica and the old MTV logo.

I usually start in monochrome and then move to color but this has been giving me some unsatisfactory results so I decided to play around a bit. This guy is in my usual style of working. 

This one I went straight to color.

 And this was a mix of the two along with heavy use of masking. And I think is the most successful one.
