These are prologue pages for my comic. Just roughs for now but I think that they will be really cool pages when I'm done.

 Trying out the Ctrl+Paint method of painting. A little slower than my normal method but it came out pretty good.

Elrik from the comic. He's the captain of the ship that Lorin and Alma end up on. Like them he's on the run from the Terran government. All that any one knows about his past is that he was part of the Terran military and that he was high up on the chain of command. The crew like to speculate why he's on the run when him and Lockholm aren't around.

First mate on the ship. An expert sailor and the moral center of the crew. He treats the crew like his family and often plays peacemaker between the crew and the captain, who is cold and not very personable. 

 Lockholm ready for work. He's not much of a marksman so he relies on weapons that rely on strength rather than skill. Hammers and shotguns being a favorite. 

I drew this last week to celebrate the Supreme Court decision. Korrasami now both cannon and legal.

Mary from the comic I'm working on. Not a lot to add to what I said last week about her. She uses a tablet computer so that she appears more human and so people don't get uncomfortable when she rattles off data without looking at anything. I think she might be my favorite character, I always like characters who struggle with emotions like Data and Spock. That might say something about me.

 Commission piece almost done. Still need to add some highlights and some other details but other wise its about 95% done.

Mary from my comic. She's an android who was salvaged by the crew of the ship that Lorin and Alma end up on. Her role on the ship to be the PA for the captain as well as his personal computer not connected to the ships computer system. Intelligent but extremely naive she relies on the captain heavily to make most of her decisions, but she admires Lorin and views her as a big sister. Though an android and sexless she identifies as female and wishes to viewed as such, as a result her cloths tend to be very feminine but also very conservative to cover up her more robotic replacement parts.

1000 posts whoohoo! So cool I am so excited to have stuck with this blog for so long. I going to be posting every Friday from now on. 

 Alma from the comic I'm working on. He is part of the yulk species and was a member of his governments covert operations division. After decades of covert ops work he moved into training the next generation of spy's and assassins. Soon he began working with the Terran government as part of an alliance between the two governments .

 Lorin is battle ready. She has a preference for weapons that are small, light and quick. Knives and pistols are her specialty but shes not a bad shot with a rifle either.

Couple sketches for some commission work.

 Markeli Simril ready for action. My initial idea for this character was a cyberpunk version of Medusa. After some sketching and writing I came up with Markeli. An engineer who worked for a weapons manufacturer, she discovered a process that would allow the Earth to become habitable outside the city. The leaders of the city not wanting people to leave there control attempt to kill her in an apparent industrial accident. She survives but loses an arm and an eye in the process, her husband wasn't as lucky.

I'm planning this to be a heist story as she breaks into her old employers offices to retrieve her discovery, evidence of the plot to kill her and to rescue a friend that is being held there against her will.

There's a lot of work to be done still and some of this might change. I'm going for a book that start off kind of depressing but by the end gets more hopeful and optimistic by the end.

Lorin from the comic LOST that I'm working on with my buddy from collage. I'm working on getting some files from my old computer so I decided to do character sheets for the main characters while I figure that out. Like with Markeli I stared out with the morning look because I think that it's a fun way to introduce the character. As you can tell from the large mug of coffee ( black with a lot of sugar ) she is not a morning person. Her hair is dyed blond to help disguise her and it's naturally a very dark brown. She has a number of genetic enhancements most notable are the ears ( enhanced hearing and body heat regulation) and the teeth ( so she will always have a weapon handy ).

Because I'm working on some larger projects I've decided to change my updates to weekly. This will free me up to focus on my longer projects. I'll still post sketches and rough stuff when I have it but other wise I will update on Wednesday.

Should be back to a normal schedule this week. Had a bunch of family stuff over the last month and a friend I haven't seen in seven(!) years was in town yesterday.

My warm light from my desk lamp and the cool light from outside made for some interesting colors. I feel like my skin looks really yellow, like I have jaundice or am a character from the Simpsons.

I look pretty grumpy in all of these. A morning person I am not.

Starting my fourth and (for now) final still life. I wasn't sure how this one would turn out when I started it. But once I started adding color it all came together.
